Mr Johnson 21.3.12 Re heating of front floor boards. TBB9/L21312. CT10/C6312 With reference to the attached note) concerning the standardization of the front floor board isolation scheme, we have hurried several sets through the shops and one of these was tested today. We did not think it advisable to adopt this as standard without some sort of test, because we were doubtful whether the scheme would prevent mud and water entering. Our doubts have been confirmed by to-day's test. The device as far as tested is satisfactory from the point of view of obtaining cool footboards, but does not yet satisfactorily keep out the mud and water. On these grounds we do not think it advisable to make this device standard. We are pressing forward to overcome this trouble | ||
