X 1282 Expl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Yng.3/MJ. 22nd. September 1932. F.R.Banks Esq., Ethyl Export Corporation, Abford House, Victoria, LONDON.S.W.1. Dear Mr. Banks, We have a report from the A.I.D. Test House Kidbrook, on some samples of fuel which we have submitted to them to obtain the knock rating. They have quoted us the Benzene Equivalent to match a standard Reference Fuel. The method of quoting is as follows:- Sample 92 Volumes } matches the D.T.D.134 Std. Benzene 8 Volumes } Reference Fuel. We should be obliged if you could give us some sort of relation between Benzene equivalent and Octane numbers as at present the former convey nothing to us. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
