To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} & By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Quarterly Complaints Attached is the first report from Hancock on complaints at Depots which he is investigating. This investigation has a two-fold objective - (1) To keep us in direct touch with complaints which occur in customers' hands when a new model is introduced, so that these can be dealt with expeditiously and avoid perpetuating them. (2) To ensure in the case of long-standing complaints for which a cure has since been found, that the modifications being carried out are the best we know of from the customers' and the Company's point of view. We hope to be able to keep in constant touch with this job, and whenever there is a lull in 15,000 miles testing in France, to be able to give the matter additional attention.
