To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} x-704. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/HP.18.12.33. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} HDY.{William Hardy} Vulture - Steering Joints. Herewith are N. Sch's 3907 and 3909, showing the steering joints adapted to sheet metal spring load dust shields in place of leather gaiters. It will be necessary to reduce the amount of endwise movement on the side steering tube joint, and no doubt Experimental Department will be able to say what is the minimum they can do with. We wish to make the front end of the side steering tube identical with the cross steering tube ends to reduce number of pieces and use the same dust protecting scheme for both.
