To.Lp.{Mr Lappin} from Sh. c. to C. --- Re 10-EX Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}24/E5.11.29 Referring to Py/Lpl/Av/R31.10.29 I am afraid we cannot justify the continuance of the use of this car by the Aero Department. The original allocation was a Morris-Cowley car, which then was increased to a 20 h.p. Rolls and, if 10-EX were allowed to remain with the Aero Department, it would mean that we had suddenly increased from the Morris-Cowley to a 20 h.p. and a 40/50 h.p. Rolls. Unfortunately the unsatisfactory position in regard to aero engine orders does not justify such expenditure. Will you please, therefore, see that the car is handed over to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} as soon as possible, and I am asking C. to arrange for it to be put into saleable condition.
