BATTERIES FOR FRENCH CHASSIS.

With reference to your Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} 6/DN.29.11.32., and our Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.13/MA.2.12.32. we are in agreement with the principle of fitting French electrical accessories to French chassis such as horn, lamps and batteries, but as regards the latter item we should like to assure ourselves of the type, size, capacity, weight and quality before passing any opinion.

We should be glad therefore, if you will obtain catalogues and particulars of any battery you could recommend and send them on to us.

Many years ago we tested an Accu-Slem battery but we have been told that this firm is now out of business. Perhaps you could find out who is making these batteries now as at the time we tested a sample, their quality was comparable with Exide and Peto & Radford.

For the 40/50 chassis the battery must have a capacity of 72 ampere hours at the 10 hour rate and must not weigh more than 120 lbs. fully charged.

For the 20/25 chassis the battery must have a capacity of at least 50 ampere hours and should not weigh more than 80 lbs.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.
