London, S.W.1.

2nd. November 193.7.

The Secretary,

Dear Sirs,

We are anxious to obtain quickly some statistics giving -

(1) the number of cars using belt drive for the water pump.
(2) the number of cars using belt drive for the generator (dynamo)
(3) the number of cars using some form of drive other than belt for (a) water pump, (b) dynamo.

We would be very grateful if you could help us in this manner. Complete statistics are available for American cars, but we have not been able to locate any corresponding ones for British cars.

An early reply would be appreciated.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
