Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} for file E.g. 1023. See WILMOT-BREEDEN LTD TELEPHONE: CENTRAL 8641 (18 LINES) TELEGRAMS: "BUMPERS, BIRMINGHAM." EASTERN WORKS BIRMINGHAM 1 MANAGING DIRECTOR'S OFFICE 7th March 1940. W.A. Robotham Esq. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. DERBY. Dear Robotham, Thank you for your letter of the 4th instant. Regarding the bumper bar, I will deal immediately with the criticisms you have made about the protuberances, and offer up suggestions that will be available for you in a reasonably short time. I anticipated the last paragraph of your letter, because when the sample was shown to me I pointed out that it was about the last type of finish one could possibly submit to Rolls-Royce; but the alternative was to have it stripped and re-polished, with the possibility of its stripping again and delaying delivery, so I thought you would take it for granted that the finish was not by any means what we would regard as a real production job. Regarding the Harrison oil cooler, could you possibly give me any clue to this, so that I could make enquiries respecting the patent position? Yours sincerely, C.L.Breeden c.s. | ||
