Engine.
As delivered the engine was hunting when idling and was idling very close to the mounting period, causing the whole car to shake. This was improved by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GB. who altered the mixture and throttle stop. Still the whole car shook when idling. Also Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GB. suggests an examination of the mechanical automatic ignition advance, the pick up being poor on opening the throttle and the engine "pinks" on hills.

Exhaust System.
This I thought was poor. There is a bad boom at 35 M.P.H. in second under power. (Gear ratios, 1 to 1, .61 to 1 and .291 to 1).

Gearbox.
I feel that the car would be better off with four speeds. It appears to be a 4 speed box with 2nd. speed missing. Second speed is rather noisy and 1st. speed very bad.

Clutch.
The clutch is rather difficult to engage sweatly and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GB. says it needs adjustment.

Brakes.
I thought the brakes, for what they are, to be quite good. Quick application produced thumps and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GB. says these cannot be wholly avoided but brake adjustment would improve matters. Some means of avoiding a too rapid application of the shoes to the drum is called for.

Axles.
Noisy always and very bad at around 55 m.p.h. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GB. suggests examination of rubbers.
Apparently all Vauxhall 10's have this defect to a degree.

Noise.
(a) The wind noises are above average.
(b) The tyre tread scream is not bad, in fact this
