Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Salt, Experimental Department. Further to our previous correspondence in connection with Short Cylinder Inserts, which you require us to machine from your Castings, we have now received these Castings, which were sent under cover of your advice note No.WG{Mr Gill - Financial Director}/F.60573, and the information given agrees with the material except in the case of the last item which should be Mark B.106. On checking over the Castings for length we notice that they are only approx. 8 1/2", so that we shall only be able to machine three Inserts from each Casting, that is to say, we should obtain 18 Inserts off each of A.101, A.103 and B.106, and 15 off in the case of A.105. This of course, is assuming that there will be no scrap on the job. We have now issued the necessary instructions to our Works and we shall arrange to mark the finished Inserts with the symbol numbers as referred to above. We expect to deliver them to you by April 14th, which we trust will be satisfactory. No doubt you will arrange to cover us with an official order for the sake of record purposes, and thanking you.
