Dear Mr.West,

I am in receipt of your letter of the 1st instant, re the article in an American publication concerning Latex battery separators.

We are quite au fait with the article in question and with the evolution of the porous rubber separator. As a matter of fact, we are the holders of a patent of what in our opinion is a superior separator, but our experiments are not yet completed and we shall require to be absolutely satisfied before we offer micro-porous separators as a substitute for the wood separators which have so many inherent good attributes.
