Dear Sirs, Replying to your letter of the 1st instant, we have seen the article you mention published by the American Chemical Society concerning Latex battery separators. During the last two years we have tested quite a number of porous ebonite separators both of the latex type and other modifications, but we are not at present in a position to give you a fully considered opinion on them. We agree that the results are very interesting in many ways, but there are also various snags. In particular the latex type of separator is very costly, and not at all mechanically strong.
