Coverley - Production Engineer} E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/MN.26.9.35. Bowering BENTLEY. Petrol Tank Filler on Side of Body. The revised edition of this scheme, namely LeC 4520, has the drawback of the original scheme, namely that the gun will not lodge in the mouth of the filler unless it has a long snout. Difficulty was experienced also in the petrol not being aimed directly down the filler. On LeC.4725 herewith we show a modification incorporating a sheath to hold the gun in position. Although we show one particular gun in position we have measured eight different types of gun during a tour of local garages, and all of these will work with this filler. We have reinstated the annular air vent in the filler as we believe from experience that this is necessary. At the request of E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} we have modified the design of the fixing of the filler to the tank. We believe the Experimental Dept. are getting this filler on the next car for France. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Att. LeC.4725. | ||
