x6640 To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.7/HP.13.5.35. re Ventilating Schemes. Referring to your memo Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}14/E.1.5.35, we will certainly look into the relative advantages of the concertina packing round the pedals to prevent the entry of fumes as compared with the improved type of felt gland we have schemed in conjunction with our noise insulating designs. I think the concertina gland is likely to be more effective but it is more difficult to get in owing to the room required for the bellows. On a large car where full advantage is taken of the body space, the clutch pedal lever and the crankcase always finish very close to each other. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
