Bailey - Chief Engineer} HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} C. to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} ORIGINAL E2/M24.3.31 RECEIVED 1931 MAR X2061. EASY CHANGE GEARBOX. The gearbox we were discussing with the roller clutch controlled sideshaft is known as the Farley. It gives an easy change on all gears except when engaging top, and can be arranged to have helical 3rd. for silence. The first version of it interconnected with clutch pedal is illustrated in the 'Motor' of Aug. 2nd. 1927. page 6. The second version interconnected with the change speed lever is described in the 'Motor' of Oct. 9. 1928. page 448. HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} suggests a double scroll clutch in place of the roller clutch but there must be the minimum of drag. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
