Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. For the attention of Mr. Leslie. LES Dear Sirs, We acknowledge with best thanks your letter of the 8th, addressed - "For the attention of Mr. Evans", who has given your detailed instructions the most careful attention. Meanwhile we have received your official order for 6-Car Sets of the parts outlined in your letter, and all your requirements are being carefully attended to. So far as part F.60364 is concerned, we are arranging to modify the present mould to produce rubbers with the outside diameter 1.625". We shall then send you 4-Rubbers produce from this modified mould of F.60364 in a durometer hardness of 40. In regard to bulk requirements, we note the first production order will be for 150-Car Sets, and we have to advise you that to take care of your requirements, it will be necessary to have a 4-Cavity Mould for part F.60399. We are pleased to say the second mould for F.60398 arrived today, and arrangements have already been made for the necessary adjustment to be carried out. The question of preventing the exposed surface of the steel inserts from rust has already had attention, and we shall paint F.60398 with a high quality black enamel for this purpose. Those of F.60399 are not however, exposed. Dealing with your Postscript re insert F.60411, we are in full agreement with the suggestion for the ring to be radiused on the inside instead of as shown on your print. This would definitely be more satisfactory. | ||
