(10) Carburetter failure.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} reported a failure of the float anchorage spindle on the Stromberg carburetter having been lost due to the locating screw having become loose and working out.

A scheme has been devised for locking this screw. We propose fitting it to cars in production. We have not had any other complaint from cars in service and so do not propose fitting at lib the locking device to those cars, but are advising the Depots to make sure the screw in question is tight when dealing with them.

The complaint of choke valve sticking due to distortion of the carburetter barrel has been taken up with the manufacturers.
