While at Cricklewood a 50 HP. was in again for what the driver called popping. Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} had attended to it as at present all are on holiday.

Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} may write and say he has made a cure by cleaning plugs, but I give you the following.

I asked the driver if he was going to town and not knowing who I was gave me a lift.

First impression they have not cured it. (fishing round I found that it was slight explosions on the over-run he was complaining about. He said they have all got it. I was talking to so and so, and they are all the same). Then he said at 50-52 M.P.H. they cut right out, all the drivers say so. This was a new one on me and questioning him I could only elicit that it went weak, but could not get him to show me as we were in the Zone. Anyway apart from a slight luffing up noise from the exhaust the car was running very well, and he had no more complaints when I left him.

I don't understand the 50 M.P.H. complaints and will try and get more information.

Waller informs me the bearings on 22-G-V are fairly good, not broken off. I propose going down to Chateauroux, Saturday.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} W. Hancock.
