Mr. Hancock from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} We have wired you today as follows :- PLEASE SEND MAN TO DERBY TO COLLECT NEW PARTS FOR 22-EX CAR - ROBOTHAM. We have a number of new parts which we want to try on the car as soon as possible and we want to avoid the prolonged delay which occurred when we sent the last shock absorber out to you. We were very interested in your report on Suspension and the information you are obtaining by altering the shock absorber loads. We should like you to confirm all your results as far as possible and especially to notice the behaviour of the car at 20 to 30 m.p.h. on a typical main road surface, wavy, but without potholes. The springs that we fitted to your car (22-EX) were very light. The front springs are 950 lbs. and the rear 1200 lbs. These are no heavier than those you had on 18-EX, while the car is, of course, obviously heavier. We should like you to check the buffer clearance with the car empty, and the car loaded equivalent to 4 people and luggage fitted. If the car is satisfactory with 2 passengers in the front for ordinary contd :- | ||
