| 208 To Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe}23/JH.22.4.38. BENTLEY II CHASSIS. With reference to the throttle spring on the above chassis in regard to complaints of sticking. We note that you are using at present the spring and bracket EB.3429/EB.3568. for complaints. We do not agree that this is satisfactory, as it is essential for the spring to be reversed, so that it pulls off opposite to the gas flow. Your present arrangement merely increases the load on the throttle spindles, although the spring is lower stressed. Inspection of ECD.334 arrg. attached show small detail alterations that can be carried out on existing carburettors, and do not necessarily call for a new front carburettor complete.
