Dear Sirs, We are obliged by receipt of your communication of the 19th instant, and we suggest that it would be advisable for us to further discuss this matter. The writer with one of our Technical representatives would be agreeable to come to Derby to discuss this with you. In the meantime we feel that there is no particular object in your purchasing this engine and we would much prefer to loan same to you and that when your test had been completed we again take this into our possession. We quite appreciate your remarks in regard to the type of tests that you will carry out. All that we are anxious to ensure is that any information that we give you will be treated in confidence, you have given us such undertaking, and further that you will give us any information which you may obtain as the result of any tests that you carry out with our engine. Whilst we appreciate your remarks regarding your standard of reliability, this is a matter that definitely interests us. We are quite prepared at all events to take the risk as to what type of tests you carry out and, therefore, what kind of information you are able to give us. Yours faithfully, p.p.
