-2- steel bezel are put on before the casting is replaced. It should be pointed out that this bezel is made of thin Staybrite steel and it may be formed to accommodate itself to the shape of the panel. From the inside of the body the elbow with its screwed end H is inserted into the casting and revolved until its downward looking neck is pointing at the tank inlet, when the position of the pin C is marked on the inner edge of the tube welded into the steel plate of the body. After a slot has been filed to take this pin the elbow is finally inserted and the nut E is screwed on, so fixing the elbow H and the casting B to the tube welded to the body A.{Mr Adams} The piece of rubber hose which we supply, is then cut to length and placed in position, being fastened by the 'Jubilee' clips supplied. We think this design has practically universal application, and has the virtue that no external fittings are exposed. Although our drawing gives you dimensions for the cap which has been fixed up with the aid of a full-sized drawing of your standardised saloon, it will be appreciated that the filler can be fixed in position on the side of the boot over a fairly wide range of positions. The parts for this car are in hand to be forwarded to you as soon as they are completed. In the meantime, we hope you will go ahead and endeavour to prepare the body for this fitting, at the same time letting us know if you experience any difficulties when we shall be only too ready to render any assistance that we can. Yours faithfully, For and on behalf of ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. Att: LeC 4859. | ||
