X204 To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/KW.30.12.35. Seating Position for the new Bentley. We have got a car rigged up with the seating position to LeC.4851. We should like to discuss it with you when the opportunity occurs. There is no doubt that this type of seating position is not nearly as comfortable as on the standard Limousine where the seat is 2¼" higher and 2¼" wider than as shown on the LeC. The fact that one's feet can go forward does not seem to give a comfortable position unless they can go down as well. Personally I feel that if the seat was 2" higher, which is probably impossible, or the well 2" deeper, which is also impossible, I should not mind losing 2" of room between the knees of the passengers and the front seat.
