At the request of the
Administration, and on account of
grave slackness of trade, I am
instructed to consider every item
of expenditure, with a view to
reduction.

You are, of course, well aware of the drastic reductions
that are taking place in the Works. 60% of the whole of the
Works is disappearing, and I shall be glad if you can kindly
consider your departments as to what reductions you can make,
and advise me.
