Bailey - Chief Engineer} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} +8772 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/LG15.6.26. NEW LIGHTENED AXLE FOR PHANTOM. +8420 We have completed 30 hrs. on the bumping test. Although we have had numerous failures on other parts of the chassis, there are no signs yet of any cracks starting on the axle or pivots. In order to increase the severity of the test, we are running without shock dampers and with hard tyres. Acting on your suggestion, we have had one of the lightened axles cast in bronze so that we can accelerate the failure. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
