Notes of Meeting.

PHANTOM II.

It was decided not to order any more material.

It was ascertained that adjustable tappets are not being introduced on this type of chassis.

20/25.

21-U-IV. This car is now being tested in France.

Easier Change Gearboxes. No developments since the last meeting but the question of being able to operate the synchromesh gearbox from the steering column on a relay principle is having consideration.

Reference was made to central change speed and brake levers as per Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}11/E15.11.34. In any case it is too late to introduce this on SpectreCodename for Phantom III without delay.

It was thought that, despite the trend of design, there would be a certain amount of opposition if we introduced a right-hand change, and of course one must bear in mind that on the majority of the Wilson type boxes the pre-selection lever is operated by the right hand.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that he thought the question of easier egress and ingress from the front seat could be achieved by altering the position and type of the brake lever, i.e. having it low down on the floor and of the pull-up type, thus enabling the change speed lever to go further forward.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} said that he thought this was important and that it should be studied.

Dubonnet Suspension. This is fitted to 19-G-IV in France and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} expects to try it when in Paris next week.

Wilson Gearbox. The Experimental Department are arranging to fit this up on one of their cars as soon as possible.

WRAITH. Design work in connection with this is being pressed well ahead and it is expected to have the first chassis built
