This is caused by insufficient oil for starting purposes, and leaving the starter carburetter working too long. An extra oil supply which operates when the engine is started up has been designed. It is advisable to get out a similar scheme for Phantom I from P2B series onward.

A Standardisation Sheet for the lubrication of the rear springs is now being sent round. A little later a Depot Sheet will be issued explaining the details of this lubrication scheme, together with details of alterations to the Hydraulic Shock Absorbers

On early Phantoms a rubber block is fitted to provide a damping device on the servo shaft. On later cars and present production a flat spring plate is standardised. Also a friction device to the swinging arm can now be fitted to the older cars. A new fabric has been standardised. We should like to hear from N. what is the cause of the complaints on cars received by them, and whether they are using damping devices which are standardised, and if they can suggest any reason why the proportion of complaints is so high at N ?

Steering Joggles and Wobbles.

The various designs of worm and nut, and new type side and cross steering tubes, enable us to deal with all complaints satisfactorily. Latest production chassis appear to be almost free from complaints.
