We have two sets of stronger rear springs with reduced initial camber in the Experimental Dept. suitable for Sir John Latta's car and the London Trials car.
Our tests have shewn that we do not get the results on covered cars with these springs as we do on 10-EX. While they do not eliminate pitching however, they have a distinctive riding quality of their own, the main features of which are - reduced car movement at high speeds, and better car control.
We suggest that these springs should be used if possible either on the two cars mentioned or on some car, the owner of which travels mainly at high speeds.
We should like to emphasise that considerable care should be exercised in judging the performance of the car after any change in springs have been made because we perpetually come up against the fact that internal spring friction varies widely and that a set of new springs invariably appear to require more damping when they are initially fitted than after they have been running a week or so.
