on the edge only, do not give any worse results on the Delco-Remy, this referring to tungsten. See No. 31 below.

A crucial experiment which we have prepared and have now set going, consists in having fitted new Delco-Remy lever and tungsten contact point to an RR. contact breaker and distributor system.

No. 27. Scrubbing action for tungsten points to LeC.2422, together with alternative springing. Repetition with tungsten points flat and accurately bedded initially, and with damper in position.
These points were only run 8900 miles (all others being run 10,000 miles unless otherwise stated). This was to suit circumstances, the points not having run particularly well, though possibly they might be considered to have run a little better than the points which were not bedded.
Sample screw point herewith labelled 27.

Both samples now referred to under (27) present a striking contrast to the undarkened surface obtained on the Delco Remy (See No.31 below).

No. 20. U.S.A. Bosch contact breaker and distributor run with RR. electrical pieces.
This test was started but had to be stopped owing to the Bosch contact point working loose on its lever. A new start is being made.

No. 22. Mushroom type H.T. rotor for protection from gases, Platinum points flat, but not specially bedded initially.
These required trimming once to cure misfiring and the characteristic pip and hollow were formed. Sample point herewith labelled 22.

N.B. It is a general rule that where material is transferred, it is transferred from POINT to LEVER. We can therefore have the lever points re-faced and use them again. The screw points only are being sent for your inspection.

There has been no repetition of this (22) experiment with flat platinum points accurately bedded initially, but judging from other experiments, we have little doubt of the result, viz, that the characteristic pin and hollow will again be formed
