We suggest that in future production we might find it economical and certainly cause less anxiety, if balance weights were forged solid with the crankshaft as on the aero engine and a number of cars. There is a certain amount of accurate work required and always will be required in fitting balance weights securely so that it may even be less costly to have them solid. There was every reason for having them loose when we were undecided as regards the type and weight of the balance weight we were going to use but as this has now been stabilized there is no reason why they should not be solid.
