Solutions of glycerine. There is a difficult in using glycerine due to its high viscosity & charring on long exposure, due to its decomposition properties, probably the formation of acrolein. Both these objections are overcome in tri-methylene-glycol. The latter also possesses the advantage of having no marketable value.
