(Appendix - Sheet 1) Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KW.19.11.35. Proprietary made parts that have been tested on the Bentley, and would be suitable for a smaller Car. (1) Marles made steering of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III type. Run 5,000 miles on Bentley III, and extensively tested. (2) Hardy Spicer propellor shaft. Run 13,000 miles in France on B-56-BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} (3) Girling brakes, servo deleted. The chassis would be put up to Girlings in the same way that we have handed the SpectreCodename for Phantom III chassis to Smiths, and the system judged on results. We have done sufficient work with Girlings on the Bentley to know there is a reasonable chance of success with a medium performance car. Cost should be less than half the present systems. | ||
