To: JS{Mr Johnson's Secretary} - Conduit St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} c: LS Gry{Shadwell Grylls} GF -> JPB SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}/JA 5.1.66 SIII Wing Rippling Thanks for your JS.{Mr Johnson's Secretary}10/MS 4.1.66. We have now got to the point where we have fitted styling strips to the Crewe demonstrator and JPB has seen this. Opinions differ of course, but JPB thinks that it will look not too inelegant, particularly if James Young could make a more elegant job of the strip added to the styling line on the door. In order to get this job on the rails I propose to bring this car to London on Friday, the 7th January, for inspection by yourself, Jack Barclay, JHC and Fergusson Wood. We can then devise a suitable policy for the future. I should add that we had Parker of P.J. Evans and Ridley-Thomas of Mann Egerton here yesterday and they both expressed considerable approval. As you can understand the absence of new cars has caused every Retailer to look hard at the used car market because this is now their only income. This complaint of rippled wings hits them rather badly as they mentally take into account the cost of rectification when doing trade-ins. SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} | ||
