X459 To EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} (W/S) Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG22.6.25. PETROL CONSUMPTION 'U' SERIES CARS. X459 X.9230 With reference to H10/TB19.6.25. The petrol consumption given in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG15.5.25. were comparative tests taken with different adjustments of the choke valve in the exhaust pipe. The tests were never intended to represent an average consumption for 'U' series cars. It was the outcome of a criticism by Sales that the petrol consumption of the cars increased after 4-wheel brakes had been fitted. As the test was a comparative test it makes no difference to the results as regards the weight and windage. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
