re. New 25-HP. Synchro Mesh Complete Car Deliveries.

As discussed with you yesterday, we have delivered about 8 of these chassis, and the following complaints we have heard of, have been raised either by the customer or by the complete car tester during test, or during delivery:-

(1) Three cases of the third gear coming out of mesh.(One case may be doubtful).

(2) Two complaints from customers of the "cheap" instruments used on our batch instrument board.

(3) Engine gear rattle complained of from one customer and a few complaints on complete final tests.

(4) Clutch jaggers. This is not a general complaint. In have not noticed it on new chassis on test, but on a new complete car, GAU-14, Sales Trials, which I was testing on the 29th. ult. the clutch jaggers were very bad, and similar to those on your Experimental Car, 18-G-4.

We shall be glad to hear what you find is the cause of this on 18-G-4, to make sure we are not turning out chassis or complete cars which may develop similar trouble.

Examination of GAU-14 Clutch -one fabric was slightly torn, otherwise O.K. The fabrics have been replaced. We will report on further test. Delivery is urgently required.

It has been pointed out that the clutch has been used roughly, but I do not consider any worse than treatment by customer.
