PROPOSED PROCEDURE FOR 10,000 MILES TEST. (1) Car to be approved by R.{Sir Henry Royce} [Handwritten: 3] (2) Car handed over to Sales to be run 1000 miles by them, to be completed in 7 days. [Handwritten: 7] (3) Sales criticisms should be taken up with R.{Sir Henry Royce} and faults demonstrated before car leaves. [Handwritten: 3] (4) Car taken to France by Expl: Dept: and run 5000 miles at 500 miles per day. [Handwritten: 12 + 3] (5) Car to be run in France by Sales for 2 days (preferably at week-end - so that squad of men can take holiday). [Handwritten: 2] (6) 10,000 miles completed by Expl: Dept: [Handwritten: 12] (7) Car returns to England and is sent to W.W. as soon as it arrives. [Handwritten: 3] (8) Car returns to Derby for inspection. (9) Standardisation sheets issued. (10) When car is rebuilt it can again be tested by Sales, if thought necessary. This scheme would enable us to complete a 10,000 miles test without break-downs in 6 to 7 weeks. Sales Officials would always be at liberty to take part in the 500 miles per day section of the test, if they wished. ----------- Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
