6119 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to By/RD. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}1/JH.15.4.39. R.R. Distributor to DW.426. On the above type distributor it is possible to pull back the contact lever when in position, to such an extent as to overstress the contact lever spring, thereby reducing the tension on the point to a few ounces. As this may easily happen on a customers car, when the points are examined, we recommend the inclusion of a stop to limit this action. On our late distributors the convenient position of a cheese-headed screw restricted the movement to a safe limit. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} | ||
