The starter switch should be as on 7 CA, operated by the foot. This position has been found eminently satisfactory, and Mr. Royce points out that it prevents the driver from having the clutch out and the gear in when the starter switch is operated; a very important advantage. If the driver wishes to depress the switch with his hand, then it is impossible for him to get in a position naturally where he could hold out the clutch. The switch is so placed as to be operated by the left foot, which cannot at the same time be holding out the clutch.

The instrument board itself will be as on 49 GB. with places added for the additional instruments named.

(7) BONNET CLIPS.- There appears to be some difficulty in dis-engaging the front bonnet clip, due to the extreme angle at which the clip has to be operated to be disengaged from the button. At this angle the plunger will not slide easily in its guide, due to the heavy side load.

Mr. Royce thinks that the bonnet clip should be length-ened and the button put higher up. At the same time he does not consider that it is necessary to raise the rear button to suit, as the rear bonnet clip is not comparable. Would Mr. Bailey please make a scheme to deal with this matter.
