LONDON, S.E.1.

Dear Mr. Geoffrey Smith,

Thank you for your letter of December 18th.

You will appreciate that road testing has been quite impossible during the past week in Derby. While we have made the modifications to your car which we hope will improve the oil consumption, we have not been able to try it out. We are proposing to hand the car over to you to run, therefore, and perhaps you will let us have it back when convenient, under more propitious climatic conditions.

Derbyshire weather being what it is, we do not want to keep the car, as we may have snow and ice for two or three weeks.

Yours sincerely,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
