W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq.,
Rolls Royce Limited,
D E R B Y .

Dear Mr. Robotham,

I received your letter of the 20th instant this morning and at once telephoned you to the effect that providing weather conditions were suitable tomorrow Tuesday, to allow my Son, Maurice, who is in Mr. Platford's charge, to bring the car back by road. I told your secretary, however, that if conditions are bad not to allow my boy to return by road, but please keep me notified as he will not have a very joyous journey by train! The absence of the car is not so inconvenient as you might imagine because I can use my wife's 1½-litre Riley, and if you notify me by telephone tomorrow that you do not recommend my Bentley coming up by road, I will arrange to collect it on the first suitable day after the Holiday.

I appreciate what you say entirely about the possibilities of testing the car, because road conditions even in the South have been dangerous for some days past.

Yours sincerely,

Geoffrey Smith

Best wishes for Xmas & the new Year!
