CADILLAC REAR AXLE.

We have sent into the Shop some parts of the Cadillac 60 rear axle which we have bought to obtain in-formation about Phoenix. The parts consist of:-

Half Shaft
Hub
Bearing
Key and Nut.

We should like you to take a careful blue bedding, and also measurements to determine whether the male and female taper are the same angle.

When the hub is assembled on the shaft, we should like to know what clearance there is between it and the inner race of the ball bearing, as no adjustment washer is provided at this point.

When the hub has been put on the taper really tight, we should like to know how difficult it is to remove it.

When you have done these experiments, will you please make a dimensioned sketch of the parts then hand to Walter Bell for some endurance rig running.
