X.2823 X.2918 - RE MAGNETO EXPERIMENTS Your list of experiments required, to hand, and we will endeavour to systematically carry these out. Mr. Ellis has the instructions for making another A cam for the Bosch Z.R.6 arranged for lubrication. We have heard from Mr. Ellis that he does not think the cam for 7 C.A. would be in time, as he has only just received the instructions at 11.30 yesterday. With reference to experiments 1, 2, 3, and 4, on your list, we are held up at the moment for a suitable cam which Mr. Ellis has on hand, and we have put on order springs of .021" thickness. For the moment we are rigging up experiment number 5, test of small Dixie Magneto at 6000 R.P.M. The Bosch magneto for the spark vision will be driven as per sketch, which is self explanatory, and we shall go round the range by the use of the advance and retard lever and by changing the chain tooth by tooth at the sprocket.
