V3989 (X1282) One of the test conditions in connection with an order for 13 Eagle IX engines for the above, is that all engines must undergo their tests on Krasnagnarsky spirit, and before we would commit ourselves on this point, we asked for a quantity of this particular spirit to be sent to us. We are now informed by the Stores, that 25 gallons have been received, and we have issued instructions for it to be handed over to you. Will you kindly carry out the usual tests, using this spirit, and let us have your report in connection with the horse power under normal conditions. We understand from Sales Dept. that Napiers and other aero engine manufacturers have used this spirit, in connection with aero engines they have supplied to the Russian Authorities. BY/HM{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} P.S. Since writing the above, Blb. has been here, and stated that they want to close the above Contract on Monday, and we should like you, if possible, to have a test made with this particular spirit before then. | ||
