Exptl. Dept. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Std.10/KW. 3rd April, 1935. The Packless Gland Co.Ltd., Windmill Road, Sunbury, Middlesex. For the attention of Mr. Martin-Hurst. Dear Sirs, We are returning to you herewith six thermostats supplied by yourselves to Order No. 80183. These thermostats are quite useless to us since they do not adhere to the temperature limits specified in the above order, i.e. Commence to open at 75°C. and be fully open at 82°C. We attach a blue print showing the characteristics of these thermostats as tested by us. We cannot understand why you should send us instruments which deviate so radically from the specified requirements, particularly as the importance of these limits has been stressed to you both in the original order and in a memo. to you Roy {Sir Henry Royce} /GC4/MW.22.3.35. If you are able to supply us with six thermostats which do conform to the above-mentioned limits, we should like you to do so as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. Note: The Numbers of the Thermostats on attached print refer to the numbers on the boxes of the thermostats as packed for return to you. | ||
