Dear Sirs,

Referring to your letter dated the 3rd April we are returning to you the six Thermostats covered by your Replacement Order No. R. {Sir Henry Royce} 7907.

We have adjusted and tested these with great care, and they are now working as follows:-

Temperature when extended to 1.525" Temperature when contracted to 1.275".

No.1. 83.5°C. 74.4°C.
2. 84.4 75.2
3. 81.3 73.3
4. 84.1 74.6
5. 83.9. 74.6
6. 82.8 73.

These figures while not being exactly to your specification, are as near as we can get using the assembly shown on your drawing.

Although we wish to make no excuse for the fact that these thermostats were apparently originally delivered incorrectly adjusted, we would now like to draw your attention to the following points.
