Messrs. S.U.Carburetter Co.,
East Works,
Bordesley Green Road,
Adderley Park,
BIRMINGHAM, 8.

For the attention of Mr. Cooper.

Dear Sirs,

Further to our conversation in your office re. the manufacture by you of a special carburetter body.

Attached is a sketch of our requirements. I have omitted to put on dimensions purposely, so that you may produce this according to your own specified methods of machining etc.

Further you will notice, that beneath the body is a considerable amount of surplus metal adjacent to the jet mechanism. If it is convenient for you to machine straight across the bottom, we do not mind the surplus metal.

Finally, we would like you to fit the steel flange as shown, and complete the job as far as possible by fitting jet mechanism, float chamber, air-valve, etc. We would like the latter to incorporate the hydraulically damped piston.

We would like you to confirm as soon as possible that you can supply this modified carburetter, and also supply a print of your working drawing when you have made one.

We will then send an official order for four such carburetters. In the meantime we would like you to put the job in hand as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
