| 1033 EXPERIMENTAL DEPT. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /GR. {George Ratcliffe} 11/JH. 3rd. June, 1938. The Zenith Carburetter Co.Ltd., Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, MIDDLESEX. For the attention of Mr. A.E. Palmer. D.C. 42 T Carburetters. Dear Sirs, With reference to our telegram, the writer has arranged to change the springs and byepass jets on the first batch at our works here in order to save time. The obsolete parts will be returned in due course. The changing of the byepass jet to .036 is in order to cope with variation in full throttle consumption in relation to the reverse air bleed on the new idle feed system. Will you kindly include the .036 byepass jet and the lowered fuel level of .750" in our specification. An official order will follow later for the jets and springs. We are pleased to acknowledge receipt of two D.C.42. carburetters with the modified choke mechanism and will report in due dourse. With reference to the throttle screws on the E.E.C.42 carburetter we apologise for the oversight and agree to your suggestion of looking them with a blob of solder round the head of the screw. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
