Report of work carried out on B-35-AE, E.R. Hall's car, for Ulster T.T.

July 20th.
Collected this car from the Repair Dept. and delivered it to Sanderson & Holmes for alteration to all wing stays. Two new front stays were eventually made in Exp. for rear wings.

August 8th.
Prepared the car for test on Brooklands.

August 9th.
Drove car to Brooklands with T. Salt as passenger. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} and F.{Mr Friese} Dodd drove down on 1-B-IV.

Worked solely on B-35-AE with assistance from F.{Mr Friese} Dodd and T. Salt to change rear wings, wheels and tyres.

On arrival back at the Works, the rear axle was taken out and sent to Exp. Shop for alteration to ratio (Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}). 11 x 41 gears taken out and 11 x 43 gears fitted by R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hollingsworth. The rear axle was then replaced by Repair Dept. I then overhauled the car generally as follows :-

Changed oil in engine, gearbox and rear axle.
Cleaned out petrol tank, filters, carbs. and oil tank.
Ignition tower taken off and replaced with modified type (new tower fitted complete).
Tappets re-set and timing checked O.K.
New rear wings fitted and stays made to suit.
Quick lift jack tested and altered accordingly. This was handed over to Mr. Hall as pattern for him to get some more stronger ones made.
Reserve oil tank cap removed and handed over to Mr. Hall, to get replaced with snap opening filler cap.
Petrol funnel made in Exp. Dept.
Set of racing wheel nuts made in Exp. Dept. and fitted to car.
