contd:- -3- In the meantime, there is no doubt that everybody has got to make the best of the present design of car as it stands. We suggest that the Sales Dept. are magnifying the troubles as regards the magneto on the Goshawk in order to impress upon us the necessity of having two independent ignitions- this is not necessary. We know of no other small cars on the market which have two independent ignitions. The American cars for export have magneto only. We can also supply a Goshawk with the magneto only working instead of battery ignition. We are taking a Goshawk car to Mr. Royce next week fitted with the magneto to the present existing designs. We wish to discuss with him the work entailed to connect up the magneto and get him to agree to the manner in which the present design of cars fitted with magneto should be despatched to customers. On the way back from WW, we propose calling at London in order to demonstrate to the Officials interested the actual work in connection with fitting the magneto. If Sales Dept. wish to have a Goshawk car fitted with magneto to run about and to test, we recommend that one of the standard production chassis is fitted up with a Magneto - this will then represent exactly what we propose to send to customers.
