X. 2515 - 30 S.W.G. TIN LEAD FUSE WIRE FOR X.3749 LUCAS SWITCHBOX.

We see from EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s note EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/T18/F3.2.20, that he is now satisfied that the tin lead fuse wire for the field fuse in the Lucas switchbox should be standardised. We have mentioned this matter to Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} and he is agreeable that this be adopted without standardisation sheet or progress meeting approval. Will you, therefore, kindly arrange for this on production.

We obtained some time ago four reels of this wire, two of which were handed to the Test Dept. and two kept by ourselves. As we now understand the Test Dept. require more of this wire, we are handing them one further reel with which to carry on, but no doubt you will immediately place some more of this on order, as it will be necessary to change this in all switchboxes, including spare fuse containers, already delivered to us.

In a letter to us some little while back Messrs. Lucas expressed their willingness to change these fuses in the boxes sent out by them so soon as they receive our instructions to do so. Perhaps you will write to Messrs. Lucas and give them the necessary instructions to this effect.

We attach copy of their letter referred to.

Ck.{Mr Clark}
